Dr. Gosalia completed his undergraduate education at Lehigh University, attaining a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Mathematics. He completed his medical education at the former MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, now Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia. After completing a surgical internship at George Washington University, he went on to the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at Penn and served as Chief Resident during his last year. He is a board certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist in practice at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He serves as Residency Education & Cardiothoracic Fellowship coordinator at Forbes. He has authored multiple articles and book chapters on Cardiac Anesthesia. Dr. Gosalia has also completed his examination of special competence in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography for the National Board of Echocardiography.
Before coming to Forbes Regional, Dr. Gosalia served as the Residency Education Director for the Western Pennsylvania Hospital – Allegheny General Hospital Medical Education Consortium Program. Here, he developed monthly ABA written board review sessions helping residents prepare for the In-Training Examination and ABA written boards. His passion for teaching and dynamic ability to engage residents in active learning has earned him the “Educator of the Year” award 4 years in a row!

Dr. MacKnight completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Irvine, attaining a B.S. in Biology. She completed her medical education at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Following a medical internship at Penn State Hershey, she went on to complete her Anesthesiology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. After residency, she stayed at Johns Hopkins to complete a combined Cardiothoracic & Vascular Anesthesia Fellowship. She is a board certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist and serves as Director of the Cardiothoracic & Vascular Anesthesia Fellowship for the Western Pennsylvania Hospital – Allegheny General Hospital Medical Education Consortium Program. She has authored multiple articles and book chapters on Cardiac Anesthesia. Dr. Macknight has also completed her examination of special competence in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography for the National Board of Echocardiography.
